Brief History of Hope
Our church was birthed in an outpouring of The Holy Spirit in July 1943. As an Ambassador for Christ, Evangelist Nolan Sluder came to Fayetteville, TN with the Message of Reconciliation and Pentecost. A tent was erected and the several month revival was led under the leadership of Rev. & Mrs. Leslie Tomlin. On June 1945, the church became an official member of The Assemblies of God.
The strong spiritual foundation laid through the efforts of the Tomlins and the small congregation opened the door of God’s favor to be able to purchase a beautiful 12 acre tract of land on highway 431 just outside of town. In 1993 a new sanctuary was erected to the glory of God. After a Pastorate of several great men of God, the Lord in 2011, led Pastors Ben & Tammy Johnson to Fayetteville from Memphis, TN to lead this body of believers. The church presently is now known as Hope Assembly Church.
Presently our church campus includes the sanctuary, modern nursery and classroom facilities, a fellowship hall/student ministries center with a commercial kitchen, an office complex, and Kingdom Kids Learning Center.
Hope Assembly of God is a distinctly Pentecostal church built on a foundation of powerful moves of God. Our focus is two-fold: Loving God and Loving people.
If you are looking for a comfortable environment where you can learn more about Jesus Christ, a place where you can experience intimate worship, or a place you connect with other believers then consider visiting us at Hope Assembly.
